Professor Thomas Bornhardt S. is a dental surgeon specializing in temporomandibular disorders and orofacial pain, and holds a Master’s degree in Dentistry with a concentration in this same area. He also holds a certificate in Innovation and University Teaching in Health and a fellowship in Sleep Medicine and Polysomnography.

He serves as an Assistant Professor and teaches both undergraduate and graduate courses at the University of La Frontera, where he is also a member of the Academic Committee for the Specialty in Temporomandibular Disorders and Orofacial Pain. Additionally, he is the Director of the Facial Pain and Sleep Clinic (CDS) in Temuco, Chile, and a member of the Sleep & Pain Research group.

Prof. Bornhardt served as president of the Chilean Society of Sleep Medicine. He is a member of the Chilean Society of Temporomandibular Disorders and Orofacial Pain, the Chilean Association for the Study of Pain and Palliative Care, and the International Association for the Study of Pain (IASP).
