Temporomandibular Disorders and Orofacial Pain, Session II, Latin America. April 22, 2026.

by

We’ve successfully completed the second session of our International Program in Temporomandibular Disorders and Orofacial Pain – LATIN AMERICA!

In this session, we explored the key biological, psychological, and social risk factors involved in temporomandibular disorders (TMD) and orofacial pain. We discussed how anxiety, depression, parafunctional habits, stress, nervous system sensitization, genetic factors, and painful comorbidities interact and influence the onset, persistence, and chronification of pain.

This program is organized by the Orofacial Sleep Consortium Global and Francisco Marroquín University – School of Dentistry.

We are proud to have participants from 7 countries:
🇲🇽 Mexico · 🇬🇹 Guatemala · 🇸🇻 El Salvador · 🇭🇳 Honduras · 🇪🇨 Ecuador · 🇨🇷 Costa Rica · 🇵🇪Peru

Temporomandibular disorders and orofacial pain are frequent and complex clinical challenges that require evidence-based, interdisciplinary approaches. 🩺📚

This program meets the growing need for continuing education for dentists in Latin America in the evaluation, differential diagnosis, and conservative management of temporomandibular disorders, orofacial pain, and key sleep medicine topics, aligned with international standards.
