Noshir R. Mehta / D.M.D., M.S.
Noshir R. Mehta is professor Emeritus, senior adviser to the Craniofacial Pain, Headache and Sleep Center, and former dean of global relations, at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine (TUSDM).
Dr. Mehta has a special interest in orofacial pain and dental sleep medicine. He is the founding director of the Craniofacial Pain Center at Tufts, teaches at the school, and lectures nationally and internationally. He is a fellow of the International College of Dentists, the American College of Dentists, and the Pierre Fouchard Academy. Dr. Mehta has received numerous awards from various dental organizations including the prestigious Hayden Stack Award from the American Academy of Craniofacial Pain and, most recently, 2015 Clinician of the Year from the Massachusetts Dental Society. He has published extensively in peer reviewed journals, is editor of the sleep section for the Journal of Craniomandibular and Sleep Practice, and sits on the editorial board of several other international publications. He is the senior author of the textbook Head, Face and Neck Pain: Science, Evaluation and Management published by Wiley in 2009.
Dr. Mehta has been instrumental in expanding the reach of TUSDM in the area of global collaborations, service learning and community service and has created a vast network of student exchange and global service learning sites around the world.

Noah S. Siegel / M.D.
Noah S. Siegel, MD is Board Certified in both Sleep Medicine and Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery. Dr. Siegel serves as the Director of Sleep Medicine and Surgery at Massachusetts Eye and Ear, Harvard Medical School. He is the Medical Director of Otolaryngology for Massachusetts Eye and Ear’s Longwood facility in Boston and is clinical faculty at Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr. Siegel serves as the medical director for several sleep laboratories in the Boston area. In addition, Dr. Siegel is part of the faculty at Tufts Dental School in the division of Craniofacial pain, TMD and Sleep.
Dr. Siegel graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Michigan Medical School in Ann Arbor in 1995. He completed his general surgery internship at Northwestern University and then completed his residency at Harvard University in Otolaryngology- Head and Neck Surgery. Dr. Siegel has an active medical practice with primary interest in sleep apnea and the role of the nose in sleep disordered breathing. Regularly, he is a featured speaker at medical and dental sleep courses/training programs.

Laura Susana Acosta-Torres / B.D.S., Ph.D.
Dentist Surgeon, Ph.D. degree cum laude in Science and a Postdoctoral Fellowship in Biomaterials and Nanotechnology, by the National Autonomous University in Mexico (UNAM).
Full-time Professor in UNAM and Dean of the National School of Higher Studies, Leon Campus of UNAM.
Member of the National Academic of Medicine in Mexico. The current President of the IADR Mexican Division, the President of the Mexican Federations of Faculties of School of Dentistry and the President of the National Dental Accreditation Council.
Research lines related to the development of Innovative Biomaterials, Innovative Education and Teaching and Learning in Dental Sleep Medicine. Umakanth Katwa / M.D.
Dr. Umakanth Katwa is a pediatric pulmonologist and pediatric sleep specialist, and Director of Sleep Center at Boston Children’s Hospital and faculty at Harvard Medical School in Boston. He did his fellowship training in pediatric pulmonary and sleep medicine at the Harvard University in Boston.
He co-directs, multidisciplinary sleep apnea and sleep surgery program. He has extensive teaching experience and co-directs pediatric sleep medicine courses at Harvard and Tufts Universities. His research interests include phenotyping pediatrics OSA, infant sleep apnea, drug induced sleep endoscopy, and technology integration in sleep evaluation. His current research includes AI based modeling of sleep study interpretation of pediatric OSA. He lectures widely across the world and involved in teaching sleep physicians, dentists and medical students and has extensively published in several peer reviewed national and international journals.

Jayme R. Matchinski / J.D.
Attorney Jayme Matchinski draws on her extensive experience in health and corporate law to help health care companies handle the complex regulatory and operational issues unique to the industry. Jayme assists health care providers with reimbursement, licensure, and certification issues. Health care clients also seek her advice on purchasing, selling, and forming health care entities. A former vice president of a national health care consulting firm, Jayme has successfully represented health care providers in reimbursement claims against insurance carriers and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. Physicians and health care systems look to Jayme for guidance on the legal and reimbursement structuring of post-acute venues of care, including sleep disorder centers, rehabilitation hospitals and facilities, ambulatory surgery centers, long-term acute care hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, nursing homes, and assisted living facilities.

Greg Essick / D.D.S., Ph.D.
Dr. Greg Essick is Adjunct Professor at the University of North Carolina Adams School of Dentistry. Previously as a full-time faculty member he oversaw the Dental Sleep Clinic, which was the school’s venue for patient care, education and research in oral appliance and combination therapy. Dr. Essick provided much of the school’s education and hands-on training in dental sleep medicine. He authors/co-authors over 120 journal articles and book chapters, the most recent ones pertaining to sleep medicine. Dr. Essick is a member of the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, a past chair of the Academy’s Research Committee and of the Academic Dental Sleep Medicine Council. He served on Academy task forces to define an effective oral appliance and to identify its appropriate therapeutic position.

Reimy Evangelista De Leon / D.D.S.
Dr. Evangelista De Leon is a second-generation dentist who was born and raised in the Dominican Republic. At a young age, Evangelista became aware of the extreme need for quality dental care that several populations lack. In 2015, Dr. Evangelista obtained his DDS at Pontificia Universidad Catolica Madre y Maestra (PUCMM) and completed his Post-Doctoral education in Orofacial pain at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts in 2020. More recently, Dr. Evangelista was awarded his MS in Healthcare Management by Charlton College of Business at the University of Massachusetts in 2022.
Dr. Evangelista’s experience includes general dentistry and orofacial pain specialist in both public and private practices, working in academic settings as an orofacial pain provider at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, and serving as Adjunct Assistant Clinical Professor at University of New England (UNE). Dr. Evangelista also serves as the current President of Hispanic International Mission (HIM). More recently he became the owner of Vermont Orofacial Pain Associates and Vermont Dental Medicine.
Dr. Evangelista has completed several presentations and research papers over the years. Miguel Meira e Cruz / D.D.S.
Prof Meira e Cruz is European Somnologist – Expert in Sleep Medicine (ESRS) and International Sleep Disorders Specialist (WSS). He is the Head of the Sleep Unit of the Cardiovascular Center, University of Lisbon, Lisbon School of Medicine and Director of the European Sleep Center. International Diplomate of the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine, Dr. Meira e Cruz dedicates it’s clinical practice to both Sleep Medicine and Orofacial Sleep Medicine scope. His main research interest is related with Comorbid Insomnia and Sleep Apnea, Circadian Regulation of Sleep and their interaction with Cardiometabolic Risk. Dr. Meira e Cruz is author and co-author of several books, book chapters, peer reviewed indexed papers and abstracts on Sleep and Circadian Medicine as well as Sleep Physiology and Chronobiology.

John Remmers / M.D.
As the CMO and co-founder of Zephyr Sleep Technologies, Dr. John Remmers leads the research, design and development of innovative sleep products used in the diagnoses and treatment of obstructive sleep apnea. He is a recognized physiologist, pioneer and innovator in sleep medicine. As a world renowned expert in the field of snoring and obstructive sleep apnea, Dr. Remmers has published over one hundred peer reviewed articles in the area of respiratory physiology.
Dr. Remmers served two terms as the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Applied Physiology and has presented honorary research lectures to the American Thoracic Society, the American Physiological Society and American College of Chest Physicians. His research interests relate to the neurobiology of respiratory rhythmogenesis, chemoreception, and the pathophysiology of the control of breathing, being the first researcher to elucidate the pathogenesis of sleep apnea and to demonstrate that sleep apnea is caused by an anatomical narrowing of the pharynx. He has developed various technologies and medical devices to treat sleep apnea, ranging from portable diagnostic sleep monitors to auto-adjusting CPAP devices, and remotely controlled/feedback controlled mandibular positioners (i.e. MATRx and MATRx plus) used in the prescription and characterization of oral appliance therapy.
As a pulmonologist and clinical professor of internal medicine at the University of Calgary, Dr. Remmers’ passion for education is captured in his annual lectures at Spear, Tufts University and the Pankey Institute. His devotion to clinical care continues at the Southern Alberta Sleep Centre, where he maintains an active sleep practice. Over the past decade, Dr. Remmers has dedicated his research to patient selection for oral appliance therapy.
He holds a Bachelor of Medicine and a Bachelor of Physiology from Dartmouth Medical School. Dr. Remmers has also completed his Pre Doctoral Fellowship from the Harvard Medical School and completed his Post-Doctoral Fellowship at Dartmouth Medical School.
