PROGRAM DIRECTOR

Dr. Umakanth Katwa, MD

Dr. Umakanth Katwa completed his fellowship training in pediatric pulmonary and sleep medicine at Harvard University in Boston. Dr. Katwa is a pediatric pulmonologist, pediatric sleep specialist, and Director of Sleep Center at Boston Children’s Hospital, he holds a faculty appointment at Harvard Medical School.

Research Interest

His research interests include phenotyping pediatrics OSA, infant sleep apnea, drug induced sleep endoscopy, and technology integration in sleep evaluation. His current research includes AI based modeling of sleep study interpretation of pediatric OSA.

Teaching Experience

Dr. Katwa co-directs, multidisciplinary sleep apnea and sleep surgery programs. He is faculty advisor for the Orofacial Sleep Consortium Global LLC. Dr. Katwa lectures widely across the world and is involved in teaching sleep physicians, dentists and medical students and has extensively published in several peer reviewed national and international journals.
